SAFE Samburu

Since 2013 The Safari Collection has been working with SAFE Kenya – an organisation which uses theatre, song and dance in their work with communities to inspire and deliver social change. They address a range of issues including HIV/AIDS prevention, female genital mutilation and gender-based violence.

In 2015 we helped to set up a new chapter of SAFE in the Samburu community, aptly named ‘SAFE Samburu’. Through the programme, a troupe of local youth leaders tours marketplaces, villages and schools, inspiring the Samburu people to address their culture of female genital mutilation and increasing awareness of HIV.
