OUR CONSERVATION

Take a moment to absorb the wonder of our landscapes. Appreciate the fragility of our conservation areas and understand the vital role you play in preserving our environment.

The Safari Collection has a deep commitment to the incredible African wildlife and landscapes forms the very backbone of The Safari Collection ethos. It is fundamentally a part of who we are and one of our core reasons for being. We unite tourism, community and conservation to support our long term vision of preserving the wilderness for future generations. We support a range of carefully chosen conservation initiatives which are empowering local communities and cultivating a new generation of attitudes towards conservation.

AFEW Giraffe Centre

Located next to Giraffe Manor, the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife has brought the population of Rothschild’s giraffes back from the brink. It supports conservation projects country-wide and educates Kenyan school children about wildlife.

Giraffe Conservation

Giraffe populations have dropped by 40% in the last three decades. GCF is the only organisation in the world dedicated solely to conserving wild African giraffe and runs innovative initiatives across ten African countries.

Giraffe Sponsorship

Help The Safari Collection STAND TALL for this gentle, long-legged creature by sponsoring one of our ten Rothschild’s giraffes. Through our partnership with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation, we are working to create a sustainable future for all wild giraffes.

Mara Predator Conservation

Lions and cheetahs need our protection more than ever before. Based in the Masai Mara, the MPCP uses a community and science-based approach to monitor big cat populations and help develop solutions to protect them from threats.

Rhino Conservation

Rhino horn is still highly sought after and around-the-clock protection is paramount to the survival of this species. Through Solio Ranch’s rhino breeding programme and the Mara Rhino Rangers, we support the conservation of this highly vulnerable creature.

Grevy’s Zebra Trust

Grevy’s zebras are very different to the common plains zebra and are one of Africa’s most endangered large mammals. Working throughout the entire region of northern Kenya, the GZT partners with local communities to protect this vulnerable mammal.

The Pangolin Project

Pangolins are the most trafficked mammal in the world. As nocturnal and highly secretive creatures, they are little known. The Pangolin Project is promoting pangolin awareness throughout Kenya and has a research team based at Sala’s Camp.
