DUNIA CAMP
Dunia Camp is a permanent camp within the heart of the central Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. This small luxury tented camp, is tucked away in a private and secluded location among the Moru Kopjes – a series of spectacular granite outcrops around which the savannah fans out. These golden plains teem with life and Dunia makes the perfect base for an abundant safari experience. With a secluded setting, you can escape the crowds and discover an area of the park that others rarely see – enjoying safari without the hustle and bustle of other vehicles. The natural splendours of the Moru Kopjes, southern plains and Central Serengeti valley are all within reach of the camp – and as well as game watching. You can climb the Kopjes to see clay Maasai paintings or take a hot air balloon ride at dawn. Don’t forget to get up early – the sunrises at Dunia are legendary.
ACCOMMODATION AND FACILITIES
Dunia has eight airy tents, each with en-suite bathroom and verandah with dazzling views of the Kopjes. The tents are finished with a muted vintage safari chic: coir mats, safari chairs, high-quality canvas and hardwood beds. En-suite bathrooms with hot showers taken beneath the open sky complete the special antique atmosphere of this camp. Two mess tents act as the restaurant and main guest areas. After a day’s safari and activities, you are welcomed back to the Camp by the staff, who are known for their warm hospitality and attention to detail. They’ll look after you and serve supper beneath the stars. At bedtime, you’ll find that a hot water bottle has been discreetly slipped into your bed.

Since 2009 Dunia Camp has been certified as carbon-neutral. There is electricity for charging cameras and phones, but the tents are all lit by solar-powered lanterns, reflecting the camp’s policy of minimising environmental impact.
