THE EMAKOKO
The Emakoko is a boutique safari lodge tucked into the hillside of a deep river valley bordering Nairobi National Park. Merely minutes away from both airports, it enables visitors to become instantly immersed in Kenya’s abundant wildlife in a serene and beautiful natural environment, worlds away from the bustling capital. The owners and hosts, both of whom grew up in Kenya and live on site with their family, are deeply committed to the protection of this unique and precious wildlife area and are involved in several conservation and community outreach programmes. The incredible biodiversity of Nairobi National Park is a national gem and The Emakoko lodge provides a unique and authentic safari experience to begin and end any Kenyan adventure.
ACCOMMODATION AND FACILITIES
Comprised of only ten luxury ensuite cottages, The Emakoko has an intimate atmosphere. Five of the rooms are built into the cliff edge and boast spectacular views. Each cottage offers ultimate comfort; enormous beds, double-ended bathtubs, open fireplaces, blackout curtains and private decks make it easy to relax and unwind. There is a pool down by the river and a comfortable lounge area around an enormous fireplace. The head chef is passionate and creative and gives classic dishes his own twist using fresh ingredients from the garden. Location is everything at The Emakoko: direct access to Nairobi National Park on one side allows for superb game drives with professional guides in their specially converted safari Land Cruisers, whilst Kitengela Conservation Area on the other side enables guest to run and walk among the plains game.
