Big news from our Masai Mara lodge Sala’s Camp as the migration kicks off.

Millions of wildebeest can be seen flooding the plains just across the Sand River. They currently stretch from right outside Sala’s Camp to the East along the southern side of the Sand River for about 7 kilometres.

Only a few small groups have crossed the river and the vast majority are still straddling the Kenya-Tanzania border. The Sand River is flowing so we are anticipating some impressive crossings when they decide to head north. Sala’s Camp is soon be surrounded by these famous grunting ‘beasts’.

To celebrate the arrival of the migration, we are offering a special of 5 nights for the price of 4 at Sala’s Camp. The 5th free night can also be used at Giraffe Manor if available.
