Giraffe Manor, Nairobi’s most iconic boutique hotel, has just completed an expansion, to increase the number of rooms while preserving the unique ability for guests to interact with the resident Rothschild giraffes.The Garden Manor houses four additional rooms, two of which are connected as a family suite and has been constructed of sourced materials to match the original 1930s structure

Giraffe Manor – somewhere between Tuscan villa and Highland shooting lodge – was built in 1932 by Scottish toffee tycoon, David Duncan. It’s now a small hotel with six airy bedrooms, extensive grounds and resident giraffes, who wander the gardens all day before withdrawing at sunset to the forest of their neighbouring sanctuary
