‘Edd’ & ‘Salma’, named after a few of the Manor’s beloved resident giraffes, have been added to the Garden Manor in response to increasing demand for accommodation at Nairobi’s most beloved boutique property. While the additions see the Manor’s overall room count grow from ten to 12 rooms, the rooms blend seamlessly with the Garden Manor ensuring that the property remains as intimate as ever and promising that guests continue to enjoy the unique and exclusive experience of staying in the world’s only hotel within a giraffe breeding and conservation sanctuary. With portions of all guest bed night fees going directly towards giraffe conservation efforts in Kenya, the increased capacity also helps Giraffe Manor to simultaneously increase the funds being directed to this important cause.
Both beautifully appointed, the rooms cleverly assume the charm of the original 1930s manor style whilst embracing the comforts of contemporary accommodations.
With whimsically exquisite guinea fowl wallpaper by Juliet Travers and an eclectic mix of antique furnishings, ‘Edd’ enjoys a ground floor location with its own veranda amidst mature gardens and awe-inspiring stained-glass windows that frame the super-king-sized bed.
Edd’s room is decorated with an elegant palette of seafoam blues and earthy browns, a delightfully spacious double-headed shower, twin sinks and its own private, fully-equipped self-serve bar. Edd can accommodate two adults but also has a pull-out sofa bed suitable for a child.
A floor above, and accessed by the Garden Manor’s main staircase, is ‘Salma’ which overlooks the lunch terrace and indigenous forest beyond. Salma offers its occupants a balcony that is perfectly positioned for private dining or watching the giraffes poke their heads into the infamous Main Manor sunroom every morning.
Decorated in red-rose and golden hues, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming and rich. Salma can be booked as either a twin or double and is also equipped with a sofa bed suitable for a child.
As part of the Garden Manor complement of rooms, Edd and Salma can be booked as part of a multi-property Safari Collection safari at the regular superior double room rates.
Giraffe Manor is also excited to unveil a new gift shop and spa in conjunction with the introduction of the new rooms, both of which can be found in the courtyard behind the Garden Manor adjacent to the Orchid House.
