THE 4C CENTRE
Sasaab is a special place which goes beyond its magic as a safari destination. To help you discover more about the unique destination you have arrived at, we built the 4C Centre, a cultural learning hub to enlighten and inspire.
The 4Cs stand for: Conservation, Community, Commerce and Culture. This is the sustainability framework used to achieve Global Ecosphere Retreat® (GER®) status. As a GER® accredited lodge, Sasaab has reached a holistic balance between all four Cs.
Visit the 4C Centre at any time during your stay to learn more about Samburu culture and the striking geology of this region. Discover how Sasaab is carving out a harmonious existence between itself as a sustainable tourism operator alongside nearby communities, wildlife and the landscape. Members of the local community have expressed excitement and pride that their rich heritage, culture and traditions are being celebrated, shared and preserved in a dedicated learning space unique to the region.
The 4C Centre also houses two spa treatment rooms, a lap pool, an outdoor gym and a boutique shop. Don’t miss the baby cycad garden planted at its entrance as you visit. You can read about the story of the 4C Centre here.
